A quiet lunch on a fairly average day was had at Ribs and Burgers. Deciding to beat the lunch crowd, we arrived at half-past eleven. Barring a few other diners, we had the joint to ourselves. I had the Old School Cheese, a $10.90 burger with a beef patty, bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, BBQ and a pink sauce. The large chips for the table was $6.90.
The burger was a simple assembly of ingredients. All burgers are. But then there are those that go beyond the idea that someone whacked together a bread bun, a patty, veg, and sauce, and birthed a burger. Voilà!
This burger hadn’t transcended.
The ingredients worked: meat, veg and sauce on bread usually does. It was little things that were missing. Like a proper toasted bun and a generous amount of sauce. The chips were good.
Taste verdict For this burger, I’d have to agree with the sentiment that the burgers are better at Hungry Jacks.
